Roger Allen Bloom, Class of 1968
Following are excerpts from his most recent e-mails for which he has given permission to publish:
06/30/99 "4th Festivities" and "Multi-Year Reunions"
" ... A multi-year class reunion sounds great! Yes, by all means, feel free to extract from my message for the web page. --Roger"
" ... Greetings once again from Bamako, Mali, Africa. (My goal will be to e-mail you from Timbuktu [450 miles {730 kilometers} northeast] before I leave here.) As the 4th of July was approaching, I thought I would click into the Class of 67's web site to see if any notables were working their way to O. H. for the festivities as was the case last year with ... several classmates making an appearance. Apparently, not to be this year. I also note that you have announced a get-together at Flat Iron Park for the Apple Fest ... I should be there and will definitely check it out. I'll need to see if Rich Martin and Tom Banchich are also planning to show up.
"Since I last wrote to you in the fall, I don't have much to report. Carol and I are still living and working in Bamako, Mali, Africa, and enjoying the experience immensely. We just got back from a two-week sejour in France where we met up with Carol's sister and friend, and did an Impressionism Greatest Hits tour, including Monet's home in Giverny just north of Paris. Now the challenge is to work off the wine and cheese. Anyway, back to the grind until September when we will be heading for Ohio and a longer vacation. I'll keep checking the web site for events.
"-- All the best, Roger"
